It’s been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I feel that defines art as much as physical beauty, what one person sees as a pile of heaping garbage another may think possess a touch of the divine.
If you were to poll 10 people on the street and ask the question “Is a motorcycle a work of art?” you’re likely to get ten “no’s”. As if true art can only be theoretical and impractical and made of canvas, paints, or clay.
Today’s Sick Cycle, I think Michelangelo would agree, is a work of art. And like most of the other bikes featured here this one has its own uniqueness.
The Queen and I had the fortunate opportunity not only to meet the artist/builder but ride with him and his creation last summer. Huck Hemphill lives in Michigan and was visiting friends on a stop over as he took his show bike across the country to various Bike Shows. Not only is he a radical builder he is an overall nice guy, father, and husband.
It was only after seeing his opus that I finally figured out the kind of bike my second one would be. And if fortune continues to smile down upon me rest assured that Huck will be getting a phone call to make it a radical bike.
Huck’s “One Badass Bagger” is a 2007 Harley Davidson Road Glide with more customization that I can list here. But I think the pictures say it all.
For those interested this thing of beauty is for sale and if you’re so inclined I’m sure Huck would be happy to talk with you.

These photos are from the 2011 Detroit round of the Ultimate Builder Bike Show. His sled has also been featured is multiple motorcycle publications.
Very nice. You’re going to turn me into a Eurobiker.
I’ve often wondered if they have many of these custom street bikes over there?
Is that an alligator skin seat?
That’d be a yes. I’ve seen ostrich, snake, you can go as crazy as you want these days.
Du..du…du…double post…
